One of the most common questions we get asked is ⬇️

Do you & Bae find it hard to work professionally together?

the answer is.... yes & no🤷🏻‍♀️.

Like all couples, we disagree, we argue, we have different ways of doing things, different expectations etc etc!

So today, I’d like to share top 3 things we do to STAY ALIGNED & hopefully it’ll help some of you who are (a) thinking of building an business with your partner & (b) struggling to find the balance, separating work & personal life.

1️⃣ Assess your strengths & weaknesses, set tasks accordingly. Creating a structure within the work space, having different “departments” if you will, helps us stay focused so we don’t end up doing everything & anything ourselves👩🏻‍💻👩🏻‍💼.

2️⃣ Rather than tearing each other down for “not knowing how to do something”, rather than let it frustrate you, TEACH each other, be open to constructive feedback. Learn together! You are STRONGER TOGETHER💪!

3️⃣ This is a big one! SEPARATE personal emotions! Stay focused & put the company’s best interest at heart. Remember your WHY & have FUN along the way💃🏼!

✨Bonus! It also helps A LOT if you say thank you & show your appreciation to each other all the time!

As much as we show appreciation to you for supporting our business, we tell EACH OTHER that too!

At the end of the day, we’re all human beings with emotions, we like to feel appreciated, validated & enjoy getting praised!

A little🌹& poem for you! I remember @wear_afronique & I reciting this together at @catalinabayfarmersmarket one weekend! Though cheesy, it’s true💯! Oh what a week it has been so far in NZ with the changing of Covid Alert Levels! As a small business, our anxiety levels go up especially during uncertain times. This week was a test for us, having the possibility of our markets cancelled was (still is) quite a stressful thought if I’m being totally honest!

But! The sun’s up, alert level’s down & we are on for the weekend!
